SUV Popularity Hits All Time High
City or country, SUVs have always been popular. Whether they are purchased in the interest of driving somewhere a little more remote or for ‘soccer-Mum’ purposes, they are versatile, roomy and generally pretty tough.
It’s doesn’t come as much of a surprise then, that Australian SUV sales in 2016 overtook the number of newborn babies. Considering that, in Australia, there is a birth every 1 minute and 41 seconds, that’s a pretty crazy sales statistic.
As a result of the SUVs soaring popularity, Holden have stepped up to the challenge by releasing two new SUVs to the market; the Acadia and the Equinox.
The Acadia and the Equinox have been referred to as ‘game-changers’ for Holden and their competitors. They come with high-tech features including wireless phone charging, heated and cooled seats, automatic parking, they handle well and are pretty good on the eye.
Both cars are set to hit the Aussie market in 2018, with whispers that the Acadia could even make an appearance in late 2017. The Acadia and Equinox were both sourced from North America with Holden playing a big part in their design. They are lined up as the 16th and 17th new models of the 24 Holden has promised to release by 2020 and they both pack a punch.
